Queer Folks

For the LGBTQ+ community, finding a space that respects their identities and needs can be challenging at times. At Lotus Blooms, we’re deeply committed to being that safe, affirming space. Our staff is trained in LGBTQ+ inclusivity and understands the diverse needs of queer folks, whether they’re looking for gender-affirming products, toys designed with queer bodies in mind, or simply a welcoming environment where they won’t face judgment or assumptions about what parts they are walking through the door with. We also ensure that our language is inclusive, and our product selection caters to a variety of gender identities and sexual orientations, making everyone feel seen and valued. Plus, many of our staff are members of the queer community and we have first hand knowledge of what we would want a sex shop to feel like, if we were to walk through the doors.

Women & Others Struggling to Experience Pleasurable Sex

Painful or uncomfortable sex can be distressing, and many people feel isolated when dealing with these issues. Whether it’s due to a medical condition, trauma, or emotional barriers, our team at Lotus Blooms is here to help individuals find ways to experience pleasure without discomfort. We offer products like dilators, high-quality lubricants, and gentle vibrators that are designed to support sexual wellness and reduce pain.

Our staff is trained to have compassionate, respectful conversations with customers about their specific concerns and needs, providing a supportive environment for healing and exploration.  We know we are not trauma-informed practitioners, and we work really hard to walk the appropriate line of offering an empathetic ear, while not overstepping our role- we leave the deeper conversations to the professionals like you, without shying away from validating the impact of traumatic experiences. We know that "just relax and have a glass of wine is *not* the answer" 

Aging Clients

Many older adults are navigating changes in their bodies and relationships and might feel uncertain about how to maintain a fulfilling sex life as they age. At Lotus Blooms, we sure know that sex, pleasure and relationships don't stop as we get older- sometimes the path to pleasure just changes and looks a bit different. 

We work hard to match customer's energy, ensuring that older folks feel welcome and respected- no matter if they come in excited and ready to shop, or nervous because they "never thought [their] doctor would send me to a sex shop".

We offer a range of products that address common concerns, such as lubricants for dryness, toys designed for ease of use due to changes in dexterity, and products that enhance pleasure despite any physical limitations- like sex position pillows, toys with longer handles, and more like cock rings and penis extenders for people whose erections don't last quite as long as they need them to! Additionally, our staff is knowledgeable about the unique sexual health challenges that come with aging and is equipped to provide thoughtful recommendations.

People Who Are or Have Recently Been Pregnant

Pregnancy and the postpartum period come with significant physical and emotional changes, which can affect a person’s relationship with sex and intimacy. At Lotus Blooms, we offer a range of products that can support new or expectant parents, from gentle, body-safe toys to lubricants that accommodate changing bodies and hormones. We also provide information and guidance on how to navigate intimacy during and after pregnancy, with a focus on what feels safe and comfortable. Most people just need permission to or not do something- and we are totally fine if they walk out without buying anything at all, just feeling better. Our goal is to help individuals and couples find ways to reconnect with their bodies and partners in ways that feel empowering and joyful- and we know that changes with time, and hormones, and kids! 

Straight Couples & Cis Men

Yup- we even work with them too! =]  Sometimes, when a shop proudly declares that it's inclusive, queer, and gender affirming, cis people might feel like our space "isn't for them." But that couldn't be further from the truth. While Lotus Blooms is a very feminine shop, we are not "just for women" and not just for queer people either! In fact, the vast majority of our customers are cis straight couples- so we are more than prepared to handle the obstacles that they face with sex and intimacy as well.   

Couples often come to Lotus Blooms seeking ways to enhance intimacy, reconnect, or spice things up in their relationships- and that looks different to every couple, and different to each person in that couple. So we talk folks through "what that looks like to you" and offer suggestions for products that cater to every level of exploration. From lingerie and lubricants to more adventurous items like vibrators, kink tools, or even just massage oils and card games designed to deepen intimacy- customers get to choose their own level of adventure.

Our staff takes a non-intimidating, educational approach, guiding couples through options based on their comfort level and personal goals- and helping each of them translate their needs to their partners- which is often the biggest obstacle of all. We encourage couples to explore their desires together, offering tools and resources that support a healthy and fulfilling sexual connection.
