Our Favorite Vibrators for Trans Folks
We know that sifting through sex toys online can be challenging for many reasons – from not knowing whether the toy has too much/too little power, to whether it’s body-safe, to whether it will fit your parts, and to whether you will have to sift through highly gendered language that prompts dysphoria. At Lotus Blooms, we only carry body-safe toys and lubricants, and we try to give you a heads up when there are special things to know (for example, when a lube contains oats). For some fun vibrating toys that can be particularly good for many queer and trans* bodies for solo and partnered play, here is a staff-curated list of products we carry! All of these are made of silicone, so if you pair them with a lube, please make sure it's water-based. (A good long-lasting water-based we recommend is Sliquid Silk.)
Styles of Toys to check out!
Wands
Wands can be great for their long handles that allow them to be held between bodies during grinding, scissoring, and penetration. They can stimulate any genitals and nipples and can also externally stimulate the anus (throw a discard-able glove or condom on there for ease if you’re using the wand elsewhere in the same session). The well-known Hitachi Magic Wand Rechargeable is often still a go-to when someone's top priorities include power and large grind-able surface area! For folks who still like that rumble, but want some nice ridges, a more flexible head, a more gradual range of power, and a much lighter weight wand, check out the Fun Factory Vim. Could a curved handle serve you even better to grind on? Check out We-Vibe's Wand 2!
Fluttering/Multi-Arm Toys
For folks who like power, but want a new or different sensation than what a wand can offer, check out the Nu Sensuelle Tulip Massaging Vibrator. Depending on how the toy is used, it can feel pinpointed, broad, or encapsulating! The fingers of the toy are flexible and can be spread apart a couple inches to wrap around your parts. This toy can be particularly great for folks looking for something to use as a vibrating stroker for bottom growth! For a more budget friendly offering that still packs power, has stiff and adjustable ears, and is a great toy for scissoring and stroking, check out the Hear Me External Rabbit Ears! For folks with larger external genitalia,* check out the Renegade El Ray, which can be used as a stroker or can be wrapped around genitals while a partner sits and grinds on top! Two other favorites for any external genitalia of any size include the powerful Fun Factory Volta and the Fun Factory Manta – just look at those flexible, fluttering arms great for solo use, pairing with oral sex, or using that handle to put between bodies!
Wearables
Many wearables are marketed towards straight cis couples, but can be great for queer couples too, and so creatively used! A toy like the We-Vibe Chorus can be “worn” by anyone with a front hole* and can be worn by either, or both, the receiver and giver during strap-on play! They can also be worn while giving oral sex or pleasuring a partner in other ways! Because the internal arm is small, it can be helpful for relaxing tissues for folks experiencing tightness. Tension rings (which you’ll see listed as c-rings or cock rings) like the Je Joue Mio don’t just have to go on genitals – try them out on a dildo to stimulate the receiver!
Palm Vibes & Grinding Toys
Palm vibes like the Dame Pom are soft and squishy and can be great for partners to use to grind between bodies. They can also easily be thrown inside a strap-on harness to stimulate the wearer. For even more comfortable squish, try adding a “bumper” inside a harness! Some bumpers like the Coochie Stimulator and the Lippi have a hole inside the vulva shape that can wrap tightly around someone with bottom growth, acting like a stroker during strap-on play. Lippi and other bumpers like the Honeybunch have a hole in the top in which a bullet (sold separately) can be inserted to make the bumper and dildo vibrate for both parties. The medium power Get In Ya Grinding Pad can be held between bodies, inserted in a harness, or worn like a tension ring (on some bodies or dildos), and has a much larger surface area to grind on than a tension ring.
Air Pulsation/Suction Toys
Air pulsation toys mimic sucking and can be used on the head of any external genitalia, even if that part of the body won’t fit inside the toy. For folks looking for a truly state of the art toy and are able to brush off the name, check out the Womanizer Next (the toy only has a "W" on it which I tell myself means winning lol). It offers an amazing range of intensities and well as depths – which can be great for use as a stroker for anyone with bottom growth where most of the head can fit into the medium-sized head (the depth and width of which are both about 0.5 inches). The mouth on the Sensuelle Trinitii is definitely the largest of our offerings at .63 in. in both width and depth, and is a more intense type of toy that offers actual suction rather than air pulsation.
Thin Inseratables
For folks who have a front hole,* and experience a lot of tightness (whether post-surgery or from vaginismus, atrophy, etc.), check out the Svakom Cici 2! Pro tip: if you have silicone dilators like the Inspire Silicone Dilator Set and you place any vibrator on the silicone handle, it will make the dilator vibrate a little which can help relax the tissues and can feel good. For a water-based lube that is thick enough to actually adhere to the Cici or dilators, check out Sliquid Tsunami or Sutil Rich!
